Terms of Service

1. About Orbit

Orbit is an app that helps people maintain long-distance friendships through mutual prompts and shared moments. Both you and a friend receive the same prompt at the same time; you each respond, then see each other's response.

2. Who can use Orbit

You must be at least 13 years old to use Orbit. By creating an account, you confirm that:

If you're under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

You're responsible for everything that happens on your account. Keep your password secure and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access at security@heyorbit.me.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms — see Section 8.

4. What you can post

You can share text, photos, audio, drawings, music links, and other content with your friends in Orbit. You're responsible for everything you post.

4.1 You agree NOT to post:

4.2 Reporting violations

If you see content that violates these terms, report it via the in-app report flow (when available) or email safety@heyorbit.me.

5. Your content, your ownership

You own everything you post on Orbit. By posting, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content — only as needed to operate the service (i.e., showing your responses to the friend in the prompt).

We will never use your content for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it in marketing without explicit permission. When you delete content, we delete our copy too.

6. Our intellectual property

Orbit, including the app, website, logo, and prompts we curate, is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service.

7. Paid features (when available)

Orbit's core prompt-and-reveal mechanic will always be free. We may offer paid tiers ("Orbit Plus," "Orbit AI") with additional features. If you subscribe:

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

We'll try to give you notice when reasonable. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep Orbit available 24/7 but can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. If we shut down the service entirely, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.

10. Disclaimers

Orbit is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee:

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Orbit is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) $50 or (b) the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claims arising from your violation of these terms, your content, or your use of the service in ways that harm others.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by your local laws.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. For significant changes, we'll notify you in-app and by email before they take effect. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
